Description
Tretinoin 0.025% gel is ideal for beginners and sensitive skin.
If you are new to retinoids, dermatologists highly recommend starting with the lowest strength to allow your skin to acclimate.
How to Use It:
To prevent irritation (known as the “retinization” phase), follow these best practices.
1. Apply at night only: Retinoids can break down in sunlight and increase your skin’s sun sensitivity.
2. Start slow: Apply a pea-sized amount just 2 to 3 nights a week to start, gradually increasing frequency as your skin builds tolerance.
3. Wait after cleansing: Apply to completely clean, dry skin, waiting 20-30 minutes after washing your face to minimize potential stinging.
4. Use the “Sandwich” method: Apply a thin layer of a gentle, barrier-repairing moisturizer, add the tretinoin gel, and top with another layer of moisturizer to reduce flaking.
5. Protect your skin: Always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher the following morning.
